Challengers Invitational: How to Qualify

Want to compete for your share of $50,000? Look no further!

This year’s H1Z1 Invitational is happening at TwitchCon in Long Beach, and you won’t want to miss it - especially with $50,000 up for grabs for on-site competitors! If you think you’ve got what it takes to compete against the best of the best, come to the H1Z1 Arena and try your hand at qualifying for the Challengers Invitational.

The Challengers Invitational will consist of 7 Qualifier Matches on site, after which 70 players will be selected to compete in the finals. Here’s how to make sure you’re playing in those matches:

  1. To play in Qualifier Matches 1-5 on Friday, October 20, line up in the Qualifier Sign-Up Line outside the H1Z1 Arena at TwitchCon starting at 9AM PT with your ID (must be 18+), TwitchCon pass, and a pen in hand. We will accept the first 375 eligible entrants (5 matches of 75 entrants) starting at 10AM PT on Friday, October 20 on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. To play in Qualifier Matches 6-7 on Saturday, October 21, line up in the Qualifier Sign-Up Line outside the H1Z1 Arena at TwitchCon starting at 9AM PT with your ID (must be 18+), TwitchCon pass, and a pen in hand. We will accept the first 150 entrants (2 matches of 75 entrants) starting at 10AM PT on Saturday, October 21 on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. Eligible entrants will receive a color-coded wristband that tells you which Qualifier Match you’re in; make sure you show up 30 minutes prior to the start of your Match (and no later than 15 minutes prior). Wristbands are NOT tradable, and you can NOT play in more than one Qualifier match.
  4. The top 10 players from each of the 7 Qualifier matches will be selected to play in the Challengers Tournament at 4PM PT on Sunday, October 22.

FAQ

  • Can I bring my own peripherals?
    • No. Due to our tight schedule and potential driver usage/installation issues, Challengers players cannot bring their own peripherals. For a list of the default peripherals all Challenger players will be competing with, view the tournament policies here.
  • How old do I have to be to play in the Challengers Tournament?
    • You must be at least 18 years old to compete in the Challengers Tournament, and your Daybreak account must be in good standing at the time of the tournament.
  • If I play and lose in the first day, can I play in the second day of Qualifiers?
    • No. Each participant may only play in a single Qualifier match. Participants will be disqualified if they were found to have played in multiple matches.
  • Can I have someone stand in line for me?
    • No. Qualifier wristbands are non-transferable - the person who stands in line MUST be the person who plays in the Qualifier match.
  • Why are only 70 players qualifying, when there are 75 seats?
    • The last 5 spots in the finals have already been guaranteed: 2 #ChallengeAccepted contest winners, 1 on-site winner from gamescom, 1 on-site winner from PAX West, and 1 on-site winner from Tokyo Game Show.
  • What’s the alternate/stand-by process if someone doesn’t show up for any matches?
    • After the first 375 eligible entrants on October 20 and 150 eligible entrants on October 21 are selected from the Qualifier Sign-Up line, an additional 10 eligible entrants PER MATCH will be selected from the Qualifier Sign-Up line and given Alternate wristbands. Each Alternate will be assigned to a specific match, and will be provided with information on when and where to be present as a stand-by for their assigned match.
  • I like to read! Where are the full tournament rules and policies?
